Statistical Advisor, Designing & Analyzing Experiments

Use EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN. That chapter discusses various techniques to design and analyze factorial experiments with two-level factors, Latin square designs, response surfaces or first and second order central composite designs, and Taguchi robust design experiments. Note that the GENERAL LINEAR MODEL (GLM) chapter also discusses numerous methods for analyzing complete and fractional factorial designs.

In general, experiments can be used in order to identify the factors that impact the quality or quantity of the production process. By systematically varying the different settings and factors, one may identify crucial factors, and their optimum setting (e.g., temperature, chemical composition, etc.).

In addition to factorial designs, this module will design and analyze experiments for studying response surfaces (first and second order central composite designs), and for optimizing signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios (Taguchi robust design experiments).
