Statistical Advisor, Simple Relationships, Two Categorical Variables

Use one of the following:

BASIC STATISTICS: This chapter discusses facilities for generating and analyzing two-way (or higher-way) crosstabulation tables. For each crosstabulation table, some software packages will compute a wide range of statistics that describe and test the relationship between the two categorical variables that make up the table.

NONPARAMETRICS & DISTRIBUTIONS: That chapter discusses 2 x 2 tables. In addition to the standard statistics (e.g. Chi-square test) for crosstabulation tables, some software programs will also compute the Fisher exact test (for small n) and McNemar's test for the significance of changes.

GRAPHICAL ANALYTIC TECHNIQUES: Graphical analytic techniues include numerous facilities for producing 3D histograms that allow you to visually explore the relationship between the two categorical variables.
