In a review of STATISTICA 10 in Scientific Computing by statistician Dr. John Wass, the author says “[the] Data Miner product contains all of the routine and advanced statistical tests, as well as a number of very sophisticated mining routines. All of this is still wrapped in a very straightforward and, in my opinion, simple user interface.” Dr. Wass then walks the reader through analyzing a common problem in response optimization. Dr. Wass concludes by stating “It is very difficult to do justice to software of this breadth and depth in a short review. Since the program is now exceedingly ‘bulked up’ with data mining capabilities, the power is immense.” Review in Scientific Computing December 7, 2011
Organizations are adopting, integrating and utilizing predictive analytics at an incredible rate. The business value of predictive analytics is clear: it enables organizations to define and attract the most profitable customers, streamline their resourcing and supply chain, improve the quality and targeting of their products, and many other applications. The Victory Index for predictive analytics, developed by Hurwitz & Associates, is designed to help organizations with an analysis of vendors and solutions for predictive analytics software. Hurwitz labeled StatSoft as a “Double Victor” based on its strong presence in the market, a solid vision, impeccable customer service, and great value for lower total cost of ownership.

At the 2011 Predictive Analytics World conference in New York City (October 19), Rexer Analytics announced the highlights of their fifth annual survey of data miners (the largest survey of this kind in the industry). 1,319 data miners from 60 countries responded to questions about analytic techniques and tools used in data mining practice, types of data analyzed, and challenges encountered. Several questions focused on which products available on the market are used by respondents as their “primary tool,” and what the level of satisfaction is with the software they use.
A full report will be released by Rexer Analytics.

In May 2011, KDnuggets.com - a data mining portal and newsletter publisher for the data mining community (with 11,000 subscribers) - conducted a survey of its users asking for the tools that they used for real-life projects in the past 12 months. Many respondents chose general purpose computational and data analysis tools (such as Excel), programming languages, their own custom-designed tools, and open source tools. The following table shows the results for the seven commercial data mining packages, with STATISTICA receiving the largest number of votes among the commercial designated data mining packages.
In a technical summary brief released by DELPHI Automotive (one of the world’s largest multinational manufacturers of auto parts), STATISTICA Enterprise – used at Delphi for process control and reducing waste – has been praised for tangible savings it produces as an integral part of DELPHI’s quality improvement/monitoring and optimization initiatives. Dan Boieriu, a Senior Quality Manager, has stated also that “The Return on Investment (ROI) for the software is extremely fast!” Read the full case study

Data-Mining Tools: Practical Application in Customer Relationship Analytics article was published on March 22, 2011 in a major German IT magazine - COMPUTERWOCHE. This article reviews and compares:
Peter Neckel, the reviewer, has praised a variety of strengths of STATISTICA and concluded that STATISTICA is easy to use and displayed no real weaknesses in his testing. It was strong at high speed execution and the safe handling of large amounts of data. And that STATISTICA continues to offer, in comparison to SAS, the better price to performance ratio.
The reviewer also liked Data Miner Recipies because it helps make data mining “beginner friendly.” He also praised STATISTICA's detailed documentation.
