STATISTICA MultiStreamTM for Pharmaceutical Industries

STATISTICA MultiStream is a solution package for identifying and implementing effective strategies for advanced multivariate process monitoring and control. STATISTICA MultiStream was designed for process industries in general, but is particularly well suited to help pharmaceutical manufacturers leverage the data collected into their existing specialized process data bases for multivariate and predictive process control.

The Problem

Practically all modern pharmaceutical industries are entirely automated, with thousands or even tens of thousands of parameters being recorded every minute or less into dedicated historical databases. However, up to now, there was no comprehensive analytic, monitoring, and reporting strategy and solution to leverage the huge amount of data for linking data to key performance and quality indicators, for effective process monitoring and optimization (see also our white paper on PAT - Process Analytic Technologies).

STATISTICA MultiStreamTM Solution

STATISTICA MultiStream is the culmination of StatSoft's 25+ years of experience with the implementation of basic and advanced data analysis and quality/process control, as well as data mining algorithms in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

STATISTICA MultiStream is a complete enterprise system designed to meet high compliance standards of the FDA regulated industries. It is built on a robust, advanced client-server (and fully web-enabled) architecture; it offers central administration and management of deployment of models and cutting edge root-cause analysis and predictive data mining technology; and its analytics are seamlessly integrated with a built-in document management system.

While other solutions may provide simple or multivariate control charting, or linear partial least squares (PLS) and principal components analyses (PCA) for batch processes, only STATISTICA MultiStream provides the toolset and capabilities to identify and implement methods to tackle all typical problems that need to be solved in complex modern process manufacturing:

  • Automated (nonlinear) root cause analysis and feature selection for thousands of parameters to clearly identify which ones are most likely responsible for quality problems
  • Automated and interactive commonality analysis to identify parameters and processes that shifted or moved from normal operations during particular time intervals
  • Advanced linear (e.g., PLS/PCA) and nonlinear (e.g., SVM, Neural Nets) models for creating sensitive multivariate control schemes and workflows to identify multivariate shifts and drifts early, before they cause problems
  • Advanced data mining algorithms for predicting and optimizing key performance and quality indicators.
