You can import data from any external database into STATISTICA as long as you have the necessary OLEDB/ODBC providers on your machine. In this example, we’ll connect to Microsoft Access, one of the most commonly used relational databases. The OLEDB driver for Microsoft Access is installed on your machine along with the Microsoft Office installation. Before you start out, you want to ensure that bit-width between STATISTICA and your Microsoft Office match. That is, if you have 32-bit Microsoft Office, you need to use 32-bit STATISTICA, or if you have 64-bit Microsoft office, you need to use 64-bit STATISTICA.
My darling daughter is doing an experiment. Her class is creating two-story buildings that must contain multiple rooms. Their building materials are pasta and glue. The children select what types of pasta they want to use. The glue is flour + water.
After the buildings are finished, the class is going to simulate an earthquake with a shaking table. Their objective...see what happens.
This morning we went to buy pasta. My daughter and I discussed the strength of different pastas. We talked about what pasta would make better walls. We settled on lasagna, spaghetti, manicotti and some egg noodles.
Recently, I sat down with Olivier Lebret with StatSoft France.
Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Olivier Lebret. I'm 43 years old, and I'm the Managing Director at StatSoft France. I was born and raised in Mirecourt, a small village in the East of France, capital of the stringed-instrument manufacturing and the lacework, and I'm now living in Paris.
I love my friends. When they see a nerdy graph or a fun data set, sometimes they’ll share it with me as blog-spiration.
This is how I became the proud owner of some real-life blood pressure data, as my friend has been requested by their doctor to record this information several times a day. As with any new dataset, I tried out several types of graphs to see which type provided the most useful information. I looked for outliers in the data so that we could investigate and explain them. I also looked for ways to categorize the information in the data set that might help me tease out patterns that are hidden within overall trends.
Several of us at StatSoft wanted to make a light-hearted, fun video that helps to demonstrate some of the great things companies can do with STATISTICA.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, today, I present to you, Cupid Uses STATISTICA to Manage Global Operations! In this video, the ever adorable Cupid explains how STATISTICA has freed up so much time and improved the quality of matching predictions.
