Rexer Analytics 3rd Annual Data Miner Survey
In a survey of 710 data miners primarily from industry conducted by Rexer Analytics,
STATISTICA Data Miner
received top ratings. This survey examined the data processing techniques and tools used in data mining practice, types of data analyzed, and challenges encountered, as well as the opinions of the respondents regarding the preferred data mining tools (software applications) used in their work. The section on the software applications focused on the question regarding which products available on the market are used by respondents as their "primary tools," and what is the level of satisfaction of the respondents with the software they use.
STATISTICA Data Miner
had the highest number of users who indicated that they were “extremely satisfied” with their primary data mining tool (followed by the open-source application "Rapid Miner/YALE" and SPSS Clementine).
STATISTICA Data Miner
was 1st as the selected “primary tool” among academic users (followed by the open-source application Weka, and the data mining procedures offered in the R language)
STATISTICA Data Miner
was 2nd as the selected “primary tool” among non-academic users (SPSS Clementine was the 1st, and SAS the 3rd)
STATISTICA Data Miner
was the most common data mining tool, by a wide margin, used by data miners in the manufacturing industry.
