Each year, Rexer Analytics (www.rexeranalytics.com) surveys data mining professionals and publishes a report of its findings. To the best of our knowledge, it is the only independent published survey of data mining professionals. The findings for the 2009 survey have been released and it contains important findings, including the perception of data mining professionals about their use of STATISTICA .
STATISTICA is the most popular software in the academic community and the second most popular software among the industry (commercial) users of data mining. STATISTICA has very high satisfaction ratings, with the preponderance of users rating their experience using STATISTICA as “Extremely Satisfied.”
The main factors for the selection of STATISTICA for data mining applications are quality of model performance, reliability of the software, and ease of use. We agree that one of the major advantages of STATISTICA is the "quality and accuracy of model performance," "variety of available algorithms" (comprehensiveness of methods offered) and the ease in which they can be compared and combined using ensembles of models for better accuracy of results.
