Mr. André Corrêa d'Almeida recently sat down to talk with StatSoft about STATISTICA and how it has helped him in his career. André is an Economist with a Master’s of Science in Project Management. He is currently finalizing his doctorate degree in Development and Public Policy in Sub-Saharan Africa. In short, he is an economist, entrepreneur and social researcher who designs, develops and assesses projects to create value for communities. He works with private, public, academic and non-profit sectors. He has academic and management level experience with projects carried out in China, Europe, the United States and Africa. 

• What challenges did you face that drove you to use STATISTICA?
I first started using STATISTICA for my Master’s degree more than ten years ago. A friend of mine was using it and I was immediately impressed by its graphic capabilities. I knew that I needed STATISTICA to analyze my own data.

• How do you use STATISTICA?
I use STATISTICA for research purposes. My analyses are not very complicated, but require very strong graphic customizations and capabilities, as my audiences are not usually from quantitative intensive backgrounds.

• Why did you choose to use STATISTICA instead of another product?
I chose STATISTICA because as I became familiar with STATISTICA while I was working on my Master’s, no other alternative could satisfy my needs as well as STATISTICA. More recently, the Managing Director of StatSoft Iberica has consulted with me for my data analyses. He opened my eyes to the usefulness of STATISTICA for the type of analysis that I need. I am very happy with the advice he has given me.
