Bundles are displayed in brackets and listed (in alphabetical order) at the top of the variable list. If you aren’t sure what variables are included in a bundle, hover over the bundle name with your mouse pointer in the variable selection dialog and a tool tip will display the variable numbers. Additionally, you can view the list of variables (by name) in the Variable Bundles Manager. Note that bundles are defined for a single spreadsheet, and they are only used for variable selection. So, they are never listed in reports or outputs.
Click the [Bundles] button on variable selection dialogs to display the Variable Bundles Manager. Use the options in this dialog to create, edit, delete, and rename variable bundles as well as to generate a spreadsheet containing bundle information.
The left pane of this dialog displays the names of all bundles that have been defined for the currently open spreadsheet. The right, larger pane displays the contents of the bundle that is selected in the left pane. If both of these panes are empty, no bundles have been created for this spreadsheet.
New. Click the New button to display the New Bundle dialog.
Enter a name for the bundle in the Bundle name box, and click the OK button to display a variable selection dialog, which is used to select the variables to include in your new bundle. Once you have selected the variables, click the OK button. The new bundle will now be displayed in the Variable Bundles Manager and in all future variable selection dialogs when this spreadsheet is active.
Edit. Select a bundle in the left pane, and click the Edit button to display the Select variables for bundle dialog. The variables that are already a part of the bundle will be selected in this dialog. You can clear any selection that you want to remove from the bundle and/or add additional variables. Once you have made the necessary changes, click the OK button to update the bundle.
Delete. Select a bundle in the left pane, and click the Delete button to remove the bundle from the spreadsheet. Note that deleting a bundle does not remove the actual variables from the data set.
Rename. Select a bundle in the left pane, and click the Rename button to display the New Bundle dialog. Enter a new name for the bundle in the Bundle name box, and click the OK button.
Output to Spreadsheet. Click this button to create a spreadsheet containing information about the bundles for the active data spreadsheet.
