StatSoft and the STID France Association are pleased to announce the signing of a historic partnership. In September 2012, all STID training departments in France will begin using STATISTICA, a professional software platform for data analysis and data mining, for their statistical applications.
"Since the STID France Association was created in 2003, this is the first time that the association enters into a national partnership with a software company, and the 12 STID training departments welcome it," said Jean-Francois Petiot, President of STID France Association.
Olivier Lebret, CEO of StatSoft France, says "This agreement is a true recognition of STATISTICA software. Now, our software is considered essential by one of the main training courses in the areas of statistics and business intelligence in France and as a foundation for young graduates from this vocational training association.”
Next September, thanks to this partnership, the STID students will receive practical training for use of STATISTICA software in order to expand their job opportunities in many sectors (banking, insurance, pharmaceutical and health, chemical and petrochemical industry, etc.) and in numerous fields (research and development, quality control, analysis and predictive modeling, etc.).
"Furthermore, this partnership will be a great pool of expertise for our clients seeking a workforce already trained and operational with STATISTICA. But it is also an extraordinary showcase for all our products, which find practical applications in all sectors that hire statisticians today," adds Mr. Lebret.
Jean-François Petoit concludes, "it is a win-win partnership not only for the parties which agreed, because both will benefit from the reputation of the other, but especially for end users, that is to say STID graduates and enterprises that will welcome them as collaborators."
About the STID France Association. STID departments, some of which span 40 years, have graduated more than 10,000 students. These 12 departments of “Business Intelligence and Statistics” (Statistique et Informatique Décisionnelle) of the University Institutes of Technology located in Avignon, Carcassonne, Grenoble, Lisieux, Lyon - Bron, Menton, Metz, Niort, Paris, Pau, Roubaix and Vannes, are grouped into the STID France Association. These 12 departments prepare students for a technical diploma, Diplôme universitaire de technologie or DUT, and for 20 professional licenses and academic degrees in various specializations.
The STID diploma combines the advantages of training in institutes of technology and scientific disciplines. The STID diploma is held by qualified technicians in statistics whose mission is to create quantitative tools to assist executives in decision making. To fulfill this mission, they are able to process data and use appropriate statistical tools. The STID diploma provides the means for fast integration in statistical offices of large companies. Moreover, it is a path to enter university-level institutions to obtain master’s degrees in statistics and business intelligence.
