Hot Fix for STATISTICA Version 10.0 MR1

The STATISTICA Version 10.0 MR1 hot fix, posted July 20, 2011, addresses issues in two analytic modules. StatSoft recommends that users apply this hot fix and re-run critical analyses to verify results.

  1. An issue related to computations in the Generalized Linear/Nonlinear Models (GLZ) module was detected after the release of STATISTICA Version 10.0 MR1. Specifically, this issue was encountered when specific numeric conditions occurred during parameter estimation, and when repeatedly computing summary Goodness-of-Fit (GOF) statistics for the entire model (requesting that option from the Results dialog after the model estimation computations have completed). In some cases, the program may crash or may report inaccurate AIC values due to incorrect degrees of freedom computations. Other fixes were included to address the display of the Iteration History spreadsheet and for computation of the BIC value using the multinomial distribution.

  2. An issue was detected after the release of STATISTICA Version 10.0 MR1 relating to occasional crashes and erroneous results experienced during modeling using the Cox Proportional Hazard modeling tools available from the Advanced Modeling pull-down menu (option Cox Proportional Hazards), when using forward, backward, or stepwise predictor selection methods.

In some circumstances, the program can crash, and/or produce erroneous final results (that are inconsistent with the results obtained when the respective model is estimated without forward, backward, or stepwise predictor selection). StatSoft strongly recommends that all users relying on the stepwise, backward, or forward predictor selection techniques in the context of Cox Proportional Hazard models apply this hot fix and re-run critical analyses to verify results.

Click for more information on STATISTICA and R Language

STATISTICA Data Miner

The STATISTICA Data Miner approach provides an intuitive graphical interface to enable those with limited data mining experience to execute a "recipe-like" step-by-step analytic process. With these intuitive dialogs, you can perform various data mining tasks such as regression, and classification. Other recipes can be built quickly as custom solutions. Completed recipes can be saved and deployed as project files to score new data.

  • The STATISTICA Data Miner workspace may be resized independently of the size of the window. Additionally, the 4 node placement rectangles within the workspace may be sized independently. The workspace may be scrolled to view any parts not currently visible.

STATISTICA Enterprise

  • XBar-R or XBar-S charts can be created from aggregated data.
  • A new chart type of "Six Graph" graph can be selected for SPC Analysis Configurations that have variable charts defined.
  • Options for starting "this week" either on Sunday or Monday

  • A Deployment option allows you to directly upload PMML into Enterprise SVB Analysis Configurations so that the PMML can be executed against a Data Configuration
  • STATISTICA Enterprise Reporter can now generate reports directly as Word documents (*.doc). This requires that Microsoft Word be installed on the machine where the Report is run.
  • The Ad hoc Analysis Configuration is a special type of Analysis Configuration that just returns the data from the associated Data Configuration without running any analysis or SVB. Running an Ad hoc Analysis Configuration is equivalent to exploring the associated Data Configuration. This is useful for users that want to use STATISTICA Enterprise to import their data, and then perform ad hoc analyses.
